We love pets!

Sasha and Milo (the owners dogs).

We know how hard it is to travel with pets.

There have been times where I personally have slept in my car with my dogs because no one would take me in!

I get it though owning a Caravan Park.   You want to keep EVERY BODY happy in the Park. This includes our family of annual guests and our short staying guests.

As pet owners, we sometimes forget that other people do not like dogs. We also realise that some people may have a severe / morbid fear of dogs (Cynophobia).  Other people may have allergies or severe allergic reactions to pet hair.

This is why have specific cabins set up as pet friendly.  We also only allow pets during the mid to low seasons. We do make exceptions for some animals for example an older smaller dog that requires medical supervision.

We have many dreams for Kanasta Caravan Park and one of them is a doggy run where your dogs can meet up and say hello to each other. For now we ask you respect our rules that protect you and your dog by keeping your beloved fur kid on a lead at all times.

There are PLENTY of doggie friendly beaches and paths around the Mornington Peninsula for an off lead run.

Kanasta Caravan Park Dog Policy Form

Welcome to Kanasta Caravan Park!

Before we can allow you and your furry friend to check into the park, please read this agreement and sign.

  • Upon arrival at the park, the dog’s acceptance will be at the managers discretion.
  • Dogs are not allowed in the park through busier periods, such as school holidays, long weekends and easter.
  • Dogs must be on leash at all times.
  • Dogs must be socialised – non sociable, aggressive dogs or excessively “yappy” dogs are not to be permitted into the park.  We highly recommend Alpha Dog Training for difficult dogs.
  • Dogs are allowed in your specified cabin only, but not allowed on any furniture or beds.  You must bring their own bed for them to sleep on.  The cabin will be checked after leaving and you will be charged up to $AUS 500.00  cleaning fee if we find that your dog(s) has slept on any couch, bunk or bed.
  • Dog owners are 100% responsible for their dogs waste, they must be sealed in a plastic bag and disposed of in rubbish bins around the park. These bags may be purchased at the office.  We do have surveillance around the park for your safety and will know if your dog is off lead or doing it’s business on the park grounds.
  • Dogs must be on a regular flea treatment schedule before entering. You may be asked to provide this evidence on check in.
  • A pet security deposit is required.  You will receive the security deposit back in full after an inspection of the cabin you stayed in has occurred.
  • We do understand that dogs bark, but excessive barking will result in an unfortunate early departure.   We are very mindful of other guests staying at Kanasta.
  • For health and safety reasons, dogs are not allowed in the games room, laundry, amenity block or playground.
  • Dogs are not to be left unattended at any time. This is for the welfare of your dog.   This includes inside the cabin, inside your car or anywhere on the park grounds.  This is also for the benefit of all other guests. Please click here for a list of leash free areas for your dog.  We recommend you take your dog for a brief walk outside the park when you wake up.
  • Dog owners are personally responsible for their dog at all times throughout their stay in the park.

Dog owners must agree that the park managers reserve the right to remove any guest whose dog is deemed disruptive, noisy or aggressive or the subject to any complaints from other guests.
